The Stone Castle Hotel and Conference Center

My husband and I took a much-needed four day weekend vacation (sans kids!) to Branson, Missouri, the first weekend in December, 2012, to do a little Christmas shopping.  Since we'd both been away from the area for many years (courtesy of the United States Marine Corps), neither of us had been to Branson in quite a while and weren't sure where to stay.  I did a little bit of research and came across The Stone Castle Hotel and Conference Center.  It's about a block off the strip but in a perfect location.  Once I found out they offered a 50% military discount (!), we decided to stay there and see what it was like.

We splurged and booked one of their jacuzzi suites (mainly since it's hard to enjoy one when you're on a vacation with your kids).  A few days before our trip, the hotel called and said they were going to have to move us to a different room, as there was some work being done on the room we initially reserved.  They upgraded us to The Oval Office Presidential Suite, and it was WONDERFUL!!!  Check THIS out:

The circular-shaped room was actually one of the turrets, and the windows looked out onto the front of the hotel.  The staff was EXTREMELY nice, and the accommodations were more than we hoped for.  The hotel does offer a small breakfast buffet in one of their conference rooms downstairs.  For us, it left a little to be desired.  We only ate it one morning and then ate out the other two mornings.

All in all, our experience at The Stone Castle was a great one!  We loved the location, as it was on a secondary road but close to a major intersection, and the room was spectacular.  The rates were reasonable (especially with the military discount, which you need to ask for and show your ID upon check-in), and the staff was very nice.  We would DEFINITELY stay there again, and we hope you will decide to stay there, too!
